A-Level Business
⭐ William, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted B) - Exceeded Prediction
William: "I got an A*. Thanks very much for your help!"
Ash, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted C) - Exceeded Prediction
Ash: "Thank you so much for everything- I got an A!!! I couldn’t be more grateful. Completely owe to you Nick - thank you so much."
Jai, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted A) - Achieved Prediction
Tutor's Comment: "Jay chose to resit Year 13. He hadn't taken Business for Year 12 or 13, so it was an entirely new subject. Having said that, he had studied Economics, so there was an element of crossover. Jay had a year to study the content. We had several hours together every week. To determine his predicted grade, I had developed a tailored mock test. He had achieved an A. The prediction for UCAS was an A.
Jai: "I hope you are having a good summer. I managed to achieve an A in Business and I’m planning to go to Southampton for Uni. Thanks for helping me during the past year."
Casey, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted D) - Exceeded Prediction
Casey: "I would like to say thank you so much for all the help as my writing skills improved so much under your guidance to go from a grade D Business student to being able to achieve an A* in one of my exam papers. I got a B, but need 3 marks to get to a grade. We will get it remarked."
Anonymous, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted C) - Achieved Prediction
Tutor's Comment: "Anonymous resat Year 13. They hadn't taken Business for Year 12 or 13. Following a tailored mock test, they achieved a C, which became their target grade for UCAS."
Anonymous: "I got a C in Business, so I’m happy with it."
Gabriel, AQA A-Level Business (Predicted U) - Exceeded Prediction
Tutor's Comment: "Gabriel had failed his mocks. So, the only direction was up since he started working with me. He completed the exam and achieved a D."
⭐ Felix, Edexcel A-Level Business (Predicted B) - Exceeded Prediction
Dad: "I'm so pleased! Felix achieved an A*. Thank you for all the hard work with Felix. We're so grateful."
Results Day 2024
A-Level Business & Economics
Will, A-Level Business (Predicted B) - Achieved the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Will was undoubtedly a bright chap, most evident when he spoke. However, Will failed the Year 13 mock papers. Gutted by the results, Will started working with Nick.
Will: "Just to let you know I’ve got my results and I have achieved a B in business. Thank you for the tutoring it really paid off."
Mum: "We cannot thank you enough and tonight I will happily write you an amazing review, as you truly deserve it, thanks again for absolutely everything."
Rohan, A-Level Business (Predicted C) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Rohan had an exceptional work ethic, often completing additional tasks using his initiative. However, he struggled to draw upon sufficient evidence from the case studies and analyse it relevantly.
Rohan: "I received my A-Level exam results today and am pleased to tell you that I got a B in business!! I would just like to thank you again for your continuous support throughout the time you spent helping me as I believe that without your guidance I wouldn’t have achieved the grade I got."
Mum: "A big thank you for your support and help with Rohans exams. Very much appreciated and pleased with the results."
Kailas, A-Level Economics (Predicted E) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Kailas suffered from self-doubt, which was reinforced with failing the Year 13 mock papers. However, he had the knowledge, albeit fine tuning, but articulating it concisely and analytically within the allocated time was a challenge.
Kailas: "I got a D in Economics. After thinking how I did in my exam I’m actually happy I got this cause my timing wasn't as good. Thank you so much for everything."
Dad: "Thank you very much Nick, it was very good decision that we sought your help, no words say thank you, I will consider my younger one for tuition with you for his year 10 this year."
Manal, A-Level Business (Predicted E) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Manal found Business difficult to get her head around as she hadn't done it at GCSE like the majority of her peers. Naturally, she fell behind.
Manal: "I got C in business. I'm very pleased to be honest, I wasn’t expecting to do well in it because it was my weakest subject. Thanks again for all your help I really appreciate it!"
No Comment from Mum: Manal reached out herself, so Nick only briefly spoke to Mum on the first lesson.
Dan, A-Level Business (Predicted E) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Dan is bright but hadn't worked the hardest throughout Year 12 and for the most part of Year 13, so there was some catching up to do in terms of knowledge and skill development.
Mum: "He got a B grade so very happy with that. He’s performed better than his predicted grade. Will probably get in touch with you about tutoring for our daughter also! Very much appreciated all of your help."
Amelia, A-Level Business (Predicted B) - Achieved the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Amelia is a bright young lady with an exceptional memory, but needed significant confidence boosting and support with areas to focus for revision.
Katie: "Guess what I got? I got a B. I'm really happy about it because all of those who were getting A's and A*'s also got a B, so now I can study law at my first university choice."
No Comment from Mum or Dad: Amelia reached out herself.
GCSE Business
Scarlett, GCSE Business (Predicted 4 - Low C) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Scarlett worked hard. She took on all the feedback and implemented revision strategies that most students wouldn't.
Scarlett: "Disappointed it wasn’t a 7 but the 6 was much better than what I’d been getting all year. Thank you for all your help!"
Comment from Mum: "Scarlett got a 6 [High B], which she was slightly disappointed with as she was hoping for a 7, she was 10 marks off - she checked when she was at School. But all in all, we are pleased and it was definitely better then the grades she had been getting (4). Think there was a lot of disappointed children at school. Thanks for all your help and will be in contact once they are both back at school/college. Enjoy the rest of your summer."
Level 2 BTEC First Business
Sal, Level 2 BTEC First Business (Predicted Level 2 Pass) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Sal wasn't confident in his memory abilities, but with time, and continuous repetition with knowledge recall and practice, he grew in confidence.
Sal: "I feel pretty good about it because only 5 people in the class got a Level 2 Merit."
Gigi, Level 2 BTEC First Business (Predicted Level 1 Distinction) - Exceeded the Prediction
Tutor's Comments: Gigi has learning disabilities, but this wasn't going to stop us from helping her exceed her prediction. Having identified early on that she loves art, Nick explained complex finance topics with reference to running her own business selling her art. She achieved a Level 2 Pass, one grade above her prediction.
