How AQA A-Level Business Is Examined
Each paper covers the whole specification. Paper 1 mixes multiple choice and short answers with essays, Paper 2 is built on data, and Paper 3 is a single unseen case study.

AQA A-Level Business 7138 Specimen Papers
The new AQA A-level (7138) was first taught in September 2026 and will be examined for the first time in summer 2028. Every question is built on a case study, and each paper is two hours and 90 marks. Until real papers exist, these specimen papers are the best practice for students who started Year 12 in September 2026.

How to Get the Most From Past Papers
Past papers are the best revision there is, but only if you learn from the marking. Our qualified teachers use them like this.
Sit it under exam conditions
Time yourself against the real paper length and don’t look at your notes. It shows you what you actually know and how your timing holds up.
Mark it honestly
Use the mark scheme’s levels for longer answers. Ask whether you used the case study (application), built full chains of reasoning (analysis) and reached a justified judgement (evaluation).
Read the examiner report
It explains where students lost marks on each question. If you made the same mistake, you’ll know exactly what to fix.
Rewrite your weakest answer

After each exam series, the senior examiner writes a report explaining how students answered each question, what earned high marks and the most common mistakes. Reading it alongside the mark scheme is one of the quickest ways to understand what examiners want.
